History
A witness to this Witness
We listened to reports of this on a SW radio from Osh, 60 miles from where it was happening (https://www.flickr.com/photos/dunnet/25419750/) and still no-one really knows how many were killed. It was scary and that's a (historical) fact. -
Stories
Wild wild life
I’m not saying this is my favourite True Stories track, but it didn’t work on my mum's CD (yes, there were CDs in 1986) so it has rarity value - the other tracks were listened to death (and - is it a sousaphone?). -
Space
How does copyright work in space?
I’m somewhere between incredulous that this is a ‘thing', and impressed that 'months were spent hammering out details with Mr Bowie’s representatives’. Someone’s written a paper “Space Copyright Law: the new dimension” for gawd’s sake! -
Craft
Ravelry vs US Olympic Committee
Ravelry’s a great resource, knitters (it hit 4 million users last year) and we get grumpy when you diss us - London 2012 would’ve been SO good if only the knitters of Ravelry hadn’t boycotted Team USA. -
Buttons
The Big Red Button
This wasn’t widely known about at the time (and wow, the old BBC website!) but there’s a film out soon with famous people in it. -
Marmosets
No, I am your father... and your uncle
Gets a bit tl;dr but I believe the gist is that marmosets often have their twins' genetic babies - man, genetics is MAD!
